How we give back to the planet

One of the finest expressions for all of us at Avafina Organics is the ability to extend our sincere support to the numerous organizations who share a reverence for the world we live in, and we do this by allocating funds each year for charitable giving and sponsorship's for children's education in underprivileged countries, among other projects like the installation of stoves and solar panels, scholarships for university and trade apprenticeships. We continuously work on the development and sustainable growth of our supply chains, while aiming at the socioeconomic progress of the rural areas of the planet we work with.

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

Education is not accessible to all in rural growing regions, very few have the opportunity to attend university. Proper education is the only way younger generations can have a true opportunity in life to help themselves and their families. Avafina Organics is a proud sponsor of students in their career of choice, to help them fulfill their dreams and have a chance to a better future. Some of the careers our students have graduated from are Agronomic Engineering, Nursing, Law, Medicine and Business Administration.

SOLAR PANELS

Light and electricity are often taken for granted, but for many families facing constant power outages with no foreseeable end, it's a daily struggle. We donated and installed over 2,000 sustainable solar panels in our organic quinoa farmer's homes, providing them with a source of safe and renewable energy. The switch from candle or kerosene lamp to solar power marked a significant improvement in their lives, bringing newfound opportunities for work and study after sunset.

HATS AND FLEECE JACKETS

The beautiful quinoa plants that grow in the Andes Mountains, love their sun, they grow at very high altitudes where the sun is very strong. This gives us nutrient rich organic quinoa, but the sun is a big deal in the Andes at 3,000 m altitudes. Children get sunburned if they are not careful, that's why we decided to help them along with colorful hats. They love wearing them and they keep them safe from the sun. The fleece jackets also brought a warm smile to many that wore them for the first time.

DENTAL CAMPAIGNS

Radiant smiles that endure for a lifetime. During our previous trips, we discovered that many children had never received dental check-ups. Determined to make a difference, we brought a team of dentists and oral hygiene technicians to educate them on proper brushing techniques, cavity detection, and provide fluoride treatments where needed. Preventing cavities before they occur is invaluable in areas where access to dental care is limited. Our efforts not only promote better oral health but also instill a sense of confidence!
